Wood 4 You Now,  is the web site for Peter's Custom Wood Shop. Located on 622 Petaluma Avenue, which is the Northern approach to the heart of Sebastopol.

Welcome to my web site, my name is Peter A. Brenner.  I have collected wood samples from all the domestic hardwoods and a good portion of the exotics from Africa and South America. I also have a lathe which can do small turnings.

I welcome any an all wood related repairs to tables, dressers an other household furniture as well. I  because of my location am not able to do any sanding or refinishing.

 I have 54 years experience being a Carpenter and 25 years owing an operating a wood shop.  I now have 11 years here in Sebastopol. I came to California in the 70's to attend college from NY.  I returned to NY in the early 80's and then returned to Ca. in 2009.

Pictured above a Carson Day Bed, which is 9 ft. long and has rolling bookcases under the bed platform. It is constructed of White Oak with Cedar paneling in the bookcases, which have castor's which allow the bookcases to roll out and manuever in any direction.

Also pictured is a Cominski Park, stadeum seat from the old ball park in Chicago.  Client had me sand blast the old metal stanchions for the seat and fabricate new Maple slats for the seat, which join the two stanchions together.  A very ingenious method to keep the metal and just make new Maple slats.



Also pictured is my very first California commission a Solid Cherry Dinning room Table.  Six 1-3/4" by 72" Solid Cherry boards joined and glued with a double row of biscuits and Polished with Butchers Paste Wax.  The same client also had me fabricate the other Solid Cherry Coffee table with solid maple accents.

Extremely rare Redwood Tiger Burl. Box is joined at corners with Solid White Quarter Sawn Oak, also  Cedar lined with a Mahogany base plate. Vermillion Handles and Quarter Sawn Redwood Top complete the ensamble of exotic woods.    Corner Breakfest Bench seat with storage under seats.

Cherry Built-in Bookcase

 Solid Cherry floor to ceiling Bookcase and Hutch. Single board 3 Drawer fronts with pivot hinge inset Doors.  There is no metal except for pin nails, for glue up purposes.  All wood shapes and profiles shop milled from Solid flat sawn, rift sawn and Curly Cherry with Rose wood accents for door and drawer handles.

8 feet long and 33 inches in height with three cedar sided/Solid 7" X 88" Cherry fronts.  Rift Cherry and Black Walnut accents for Handles, Drawer edge trim and thin accent in top edge and breadboard ends.  Top is 4 6" wide by 96" long Solid Cherry Boards,  biscuit joined with Walnut & Rift Cherry breadboard ends.
